Nov. 28 - Last night Seattle and Vancouver joined 5 other west coast cities in planning to shud down ports all along the West Coast on December 12. With this addition it means that every west coast occupation in a city with a port is now participating in the port blockade. Together we are unstoppable.

I took part in the protest at the Civic Center BART Station yesterday, and I wrote a rushed account of the modest protest action and the intimidating police response just a few hours after the fact. You can read that account here:

I know that a lot of you must be upset because the protesters supposedly shut down the BART line you rely upon to get home. I understand that. But what you need to understand is, the protesters didn’t do that—the cops did.
The Chronicle describes a “chaotic cat-and-mouse game between police officersand roving protesters who lashed out at the transit agency” after an “even larger protest” than the one last Thursday. I was there, and guess what? I saw only eight protesters. Guess how many cops I saw crack down on the protest that evening? At least sixty cops, probably more.
Do you really think that eight geeks in Halloween masks caused the sort of chaos you’re hearing about in the media? Or do you think that BART and the City authorities ran hog-wild over what would otherwise have been a minor incident?
Why is the Chronicle lying to us?
Why did BART and the City of San Francisco crack down so hard on eight peaceful protesters?
I wish I knew, folks. Keep on rockin’ in the not-so-free world.
